Pastéis de Nata Workshop
Learn the secrets of Portugal's most iconic pastry from a Belém baker.
About this experience
The pastel de nata is Portugal in a mouthful — flaky, custard-filled, dusted with cinnamon. At this hands-on workshop in a converted Belém kitchen, you'll learn to make them properly: the laminated pastry, the egg-yolk custard, the ferociously hot oven technique that creates those signature charred tips.
Your instructor, a third-generation pastry cook, will walk you through every step from scratch. No shortcuts, no pre-made dough. By the end of two hours, you'll have produced a tray of 12 tarts and the knowledge to replicate them at home.
You take everything you make with you in a signature box — perfect as a gift or, more realistically, consumed before you've left the neighbourhood.
